Flavour profile
Sueno de Megala: Particular Mediterranean wine with expressive nose that maintains freshness despite being a 2020. The notes of fresh cherry, berries, and subtle floral aromas. A range of spices scrubland, thyme, licorice and light notes of white pepper. Toasty smoked wood in the background. In the mouth it is very concentrated, sweet with well polished tannins. Excellent balance, very long and pleasant aftertaste.
Blanc D'Engera: Bright, golden yellow colour. Great aromatic complexity and intensity. Very velvety in the mouth, good acidity, very balanced. Long aftertaste. A wine that stands out for its great personality.
The evolution in the bottle is very favourable. The sensation of volume in the mouth increases and the aromas of honey, butter and vanilla are enhanced.
Megala: Very elegant intense red color. At first glance it seems like a much younger wine. Floral aromas predominate, roses, carnation, aromas of Mediterranean forest herbs. The oak is very well assembled and does not dominate the wine. Great fruitiness, ripe plum. Sweet, fine tannin finish. Toasted wood reminiscent of aromas of cocoa & licorice. Well balanced, good acidity. It evolves favourably in the bottle

Specialist review
Sueno de Megala: Mediterranean to its core but surprisingly made from Marselan, somewhat of an interloper in Spain. Complex and expressive with aromas of orange, peach syrup, sage and lavender, this is a seriously layered wine. It was aged for 15 months in French oak with a further three years in bottle before release resulting in silky, well managed tannins and a rounded palate. This has great potential to age but is highly drinkable now. 2024 - 2030
Megala: This unusual blend comes from
the producer’s Casa Corones vineyard in Fontanars dels Alforins. The wine has a wonderful Mediterranean character with black olive tapenade, herbal notes and a meaty, iodine palate. A subtle use of oak – the wine spends 12 months in used French oak – creates an intense yet seamless cuvée. 2024 - 2028
Recipes for this product
Paella with Rib & charred peppers
This wood-fired preparation is made with 100% Iberian Bellota ribs from Señorío de Montanera, from purebred Iberian pigs raised free-range in the pastures of Extremadura and fed exclusively on acorns and other natural resources during the “montanera” season.
This Iberian meat is distinguished by its intense flavor, fat infiltration and smooth texture. One of the tastiest cuts and valued by lovers of gastronomy and Iberian pork.
